Karen joined Platypus 8 years ago and is a true research ‘sage’.
She has 25 years experience of qualitative and quantitative research and has worked in both research agencies and clientside giving her a fully rounded set of research and strategy skills. Previously Insight Manager for Hallmark cards, Karen is fantastic at supporting organisations to apply insights to actions and strategy.
Karen has a deep understanding of how to engage with wide and varied audiences through her research with organisations in the sports, education, not for profit and commercial sectors. She is passionate about using research to make a real difference and give all young people a voice.
Karen is an associate member of the Market Research Society and Association of Qualitative Research. Karen is MRS qualified (Certificate of Market Research) and CIM qualified (Diploma in Marketing).
Special interests: The impact of early years adversity on future life opportunities.
At home, Karen has two children and is a sports enthusiast. A keen walker, golfer and gym-
goer, she will give most sports a try and is always up for a challenge. She regularly takes part
in charity-events, and has raised over £15,000 for various cancer support charities. When she’s not
walking Karen loves to be at the coast (ideally in the sunshine) or relaxing with a good book.
With a love of the theatre and all types of music, she enjoys attending shows & concerts.
